The Challenge
An international courier company needed to handle cross-border shipping enquiries across language barriers without hiring multilingual staff. Customers needed accurate customs documentation guidance, delivery estimates, and service matching. The complexity of international shipping regulations meant that incorrect guidance could result in delayed shipments, customs holds, or financial penalties for the customer. The company was spending significant staff time on repetitive enquiries that followed predictable patterns based on origin country, destination, and package type.
Our Solution
- Cross-border shipping enquiry handling
- Customs documentation guidance validated against current regulations
- Real-time delivery estimation based on route and service level
- Service matching and recommendations based on package requirements
- Bilingual support (two European languages)
How We Built It
We built a precision logistics guidance system that validates every response against current shipping regulations before delivery. The system handles the full enquiry lifecycle: identifying the shipment type, determining documentation requirements, calculating delivery estimates, and recommending the appropriate service level. Every response path was tested with 282 automated test cases covering edge cases in customs requirements, prohibited items, and service availability.
Results
282 automated tests covering all shipping regulation edge cases. Bilingual support in 2 European languages. Real-time shipping calculations based on current rates and routes. Zero human intervention required for standard shipping enquiries.
What Makes This Different
Shipping logistics requires precision. Wrong customs guidance costs the customer money and damages trust permanently. Every response is validated against current regulations before delivery. The system does not guess or approximate. It checks, validates, and only then responds. This level of reliability is what separates operational AI from experimental prototypes.
